Voters of Bim Son town and Hoang Hoa and Nga Son districts, Thanh Hoa province proposed to the Ministry of Transport: build a drainage ditch on National Highway 510B through Hoang Dao commune.
According to voters' feedback, currently, the above road group does not have a drainage ditch, and every time it rains, it causes flooding, endangering traffic participants.
Voters also proposed dredging drainage ditches on both sides of National Highway 1A, upgrading National Highway 217B through the Wastewater Treatment Station to the West in Quang Trung Commune, Bim Son Town; strengthening inspection work to ensure traffic safety on National Highway 1A and some intersections of National Highway 217B.
Connecting the North - South Expressway with route 527B, Nga Truong - Ba Dinh - Nga Vinh section to Bim Son town.
Responding to the above issue, the Ministry of Transport said:
Regarding the construction of a drainage ditch on National Highway 510B through Hoang Dao commune. Currently, National Highways managed by the Ministry of Transport do not pass through Hoang Dao commune, Hoang Hoa district.
In Hoang Dao commune, Hoang Hoa district, there is a 510 provincial road managed by the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province.
The Ministry of Transport requested the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa province to forward the above petition of voters to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province for consideration and resolution.
Regarding the dredging of drainage ditches on both sides of National Highway 1A, upgrading National Highway 217B through the Wastewater Treatment Station to the West in Quang Trung Commune, Bim Son Town: In recent years, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to repair and renovate the drainage ditch system at damaged drainage ditches that do not have ditches, often causing flooding during heavy rain on National Highway 1 in general and sections passing through Bim Son Town and Hoang Hoa District in particular.
In 2023 and 2024, 1,916m of vertical drainage ditches were repaired, renovated and added (of which the section passing through Bim Son Town is 1,635m and the section passing through Hoang Hoa District is 281m) and 26 venom pits were repaired and added to collect road surface water to the ditches from Km292+311 to Km293+114 (left of National Highway) according to the recommendations of voters and the People's Committee of Bim Son Town to ensure drainage on the route.
For some locations of the drainage ditches along the ditch, there is a phenomenon of land and garbage stagnating in the ditches. The Vietnam Road Administration will continue to direct Road Management Area II to strengthen regular maintenance, cleaning, dredging, and unblocking the drainage system on the route.
Regarding strengthening inspection work to ensure traffic safety on National Highway 1A and some intersections of National Highway 217B: In 2024, the Vietnam Road Administration has repaired, replaced and supplemented 702 sets of signs of all kinds, 340md for corrugated iron guardrails and 29,068m2 of paint lines of all kinds on National Highway 1.
In the coming time, the Vietnam Road Administration will continue to review and enhance traffic safety on National Highway 1 and some intersections with National Highway 217B.
Regarding the connection of the North - South expressway with route 527B, Nga Truong - Ba Dinh - Nga Vinh section to Bim Son town: The Ministry of Transport has responded to voters in Thanh Hoa province about investing in traffic routes connecting to the North - South expressway.
Of which, on the North-South expressway in the East section through Thanh Hoa province, a total of 7 intersections have been invested to connect with local routes and national highways in Thanh Hoa province. The section from Provincial Road 527B, Nga Truong - Ba Dinh - Nga Vinh section to Bim Son town is under the management authority of Thanh Hoa province.
Therefore, it is recommended that the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa province forward the above petition of voters to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province for consideration and resolution.
