The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and a working delegation went to the scene to inspect the landslide in Hoa Su Pan 1 village, Muong Hoa commune, Sa Pa town that occurred at noon on September 8, killing 6 people and injuring 9 others.
The Minister assessed that the flood situation is still complicated, so local authorities and people must be proactive in responding in the coming days.
Localities need to proactively develop plans to prevent and combat natural disasters and respond to weather developments.
During this visit, Minister Le Minh Hoan also directly visited the family of Mr. Chau A Trung, whose three relatives died in the landslide.
Here, Mr. Hoan sent his condolences for the family's losses, and hoped that the family would overcome their grief and soon stabilize their lives.
In addition, Minister Le Minh Hoan requested the authorities of Lao Cai province and Sa Pa town to urgently mobilize forces to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
At the same time, there are solutions to promptly deploy response work to ensure the safety of people's lives and continue to review, relocate, and immediately evacuate people from dangerous areas.
