On June 26, the People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune confirmed that it is urging the handling of an illegally built resort in the area.
Previously, at the end of April 2026, a tourist and resort location named "Hidden Hill" appeared in Ta Du village, Khe Sanh commune (Quang Tri province) built on a land plot adjacent to the hillside facing Ta Du stream. The resort is invested and built methodically with 9 houses, including 1 cement brick house with a corrugated iron roof of about 100 m2 and 8 houses assembled from containers connected to each other by a ladder system.
When it was opened, this tourist destination provided coffee, dining, accommodation and entertainment services without being fully licensed for business and construction according to regulations. On April 29, 2026, the Economic Department coordinated with the People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune to conduct inspections and make records of administrative violations against Hai Long General Trading Co., Ltd. (directed by Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang as Director, legal representative).

Next, the Chairman of Khe Sanh Commune People's Committee issued a decision to fine the enterprise 7 million VND for the act of "using agricultural land that is not rice land, not forestry land to non-agricultural land that is not residential land without permission from a competent State agency". The remedial measure is to force the land to restore its original state and the demolition period is 30 days from the date of issuance of the decision.
Notably, despite receiving the penalty decision, the project investor ignored it, did not comply with the suspension but still proceeded to open and welcome guests.
On May 18, 2026, the People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune continued to issue a document requesting strict compliance, affirming that the enterprise had not taken any remedial measures. After a series of warning instructions, the facility owner still maintained business and only temporarily stopped picking up customers for reasons of upgrading and repairing.

Working with functional agencies, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang admitted that due to lack of awareness of legal regulations, he built illegally. The business side expressed their desire to be guided by competent authorities to supplement and complete legal procedures to put the resort into operation in accordance with regulations.
Ms. Thai Thi Nga - Chairwoman of Khe Sanh Commune People's Committee said that with the violations at Hidden Hill resort, according to the provisions of the Land Law, Khe Sanh Commune People's Committee resolutely does not legalize the violations and forces the investor to dismantle all illegal construction items to restore the original land status.
However, to support businesses to avoid wasting investment resources, the People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune will coordinate and contact higher-level departments and agencies to find appropriate handling directions. The locality is ready to guide and advise on legal procedures so that businesses can re-implement the project in a methodical manner, in accordance with the process from updating commercial service land planning to issuing construction permits in accordance with regulations.
