Previously, on the afternoon of July 10, the Da Lat Island observation force discovered a fishing boat number PY 92628 TS owned by Mr. Huynh Van Nhiem (residing in Phu Yen Ward, Dak Lak Province) and captained by a boat stranded about 1.3 nautical miles from the island.
Immediately after the discovery, the island commander deployed rescue forces, and coordinated with the Do Da 883 ship to monitor the situation and deploy a support plan.
At 15:05, the motorboat of Do Da 883 arrived at the scene, bringing all 5 fishermen to the island safely. The island's military medical staff conducted an examination and determined that the fishermen's health was stable and there were no injuries.

After verification, the PY 92628 TS ship was docked on the island from 12:00 on July 9, but at around 13:30 on July 10, the ship broke its anchor, drifted and ran aground. The ship's body was punctured and could no longer be towed.
The officers and soldiers on the Lat rock then mobilized forces to support the movement of all materials from the distressed ship to the PY 92205 TS ship to bring the fishermen back to the mainland. At the same time, support food, provisions and personal belongings for fishermen in distress.
By the evening of the same day, the island forces coordinated with the motorboat Do Dac 883 to take the fishermen to the PY 92205 TS boat, handing over it to complete it in absolute safety.
