On the morning of July 7, Nam Yet Island infirmary received and urgently handled the case of fisherman Doan Tinh (born in 1968, from Quang Ngai) - a crew member of fishing boat QNg 905947 TS - who suffered a stroke while fishing in the Truong Sa sea area.
Previously, on the morning of July 6, Mr. Tinh suddenly showed symptoms of dizziness, stroke, left hemiplegia, severe headache, difficulty speaking and loss of urinary control.
Immediately, the crew members took him to Tien Nu Island for first aid. Due to the serious condition, the patient was transferred to Nam Yet Island at 10:00 a.m. the same day.
At Nam Yet Island infirmary, Mr. Tinh was examined, initially treated and consulted remotely with Military Hospital 103 and Military Hospital 175.
The diagnostic process determined that the patient had a cerebral infarction in the 25th hour, left hemiplegia, high blood pressure and impaired blood lipid metabolism. Doctors assessed the condition as serious and needed to be transferred when there was a specialized vehicle.
The patient is currently being actively treated on the island, with measures to control blood pressure, stabilize nerves and closely monitor cardiovascular diseases.
The case of Doan Tinh fishermen once again shows the especially important role of the island health system in timely care and treatment for fishermen - those who stick to the sea day and night, contributing to maintaining the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.
