According to a report by the Department of Construction, the Ho Chi Minh City Administrative Center is about 42km from the Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center, connecting through major routes such as Huynh Van Luy, National Highway 13, Dien Bien Phu, Le Duan, Le Thanh Ton.
In particular, National Highway 13 - the "backbone" traffic axis between the two localities - is being expanded to 8 lanes in the section through Binh Duong. Ho Chi Minh City is also implementing a policy of investing in expanding the section from Binh Trieu Bridge to Vinh Binh Bridge (6.3km long) to 10 lanes, to enhance connectivity and reduce traffic pressure after the merger.
Inter-regional infrastructure projects such as the 76km Ring Road 3 passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An are also being accelerated, expected to be basically completed in 2025 and put into operation in 2026.
Although there are currently 5 bus routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong, most of them depart from the new Mien Dong Bus Station and are not directly connected between the two administrative centers.
Regarding urban railways, Binh Duong province is promoting the pre-feasibility study report to request a policy to extend Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) to Binh Duong New City. This route is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2031.
Recent survey results show that the demand for daily pick-up and drop-off vehicles of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers from Binh Duong to Ho Chi Minh City is very high. Meanwhile, the specific allocation of workplaces after the merger at state agencies is still being finalized.
In the immediate future, the Department of Construction will develop a plan to transport cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers working at Party, State agencies, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and public service units from Binh Duong province to Ho Chi Minh City by high-quality means of transport.
