HCMC - The Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee and the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee after the merger will be announced on the morning of June 30.

On June 23, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi signed and issued a plan to organize the Ceremony to announce resolutions and decisions on the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City; the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and appoint personnel to lead Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City merged the two provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong to become a new city, still called Ho Chi Minh City.

The new Ho Chi Minh City has an area of over 6,772 km2, a population of over 14 million people, with 168 commune-level administrative units, including 113 wards, 54 communes and 1 special zone.

The ceremony to announce important resolutions and decisions will be held on the morning of June 30. According to the plan, the announcement content includes:

Resolution of the National Assembly on the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City.

Decision of the Politburo on the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The Politburo's decision on appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.

The decision of the Secretariat appoints the Inspection Committee, the Chairman and Deputy Chairmen of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on appointing Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Council; Heads of Committees of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Heads of Delegations, Deputy Heads of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation.

Decision of the Prime Minister on appointing the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Decision of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

At the ceremony, the decisions will also be presented and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will be introduced.

On the same day, June 30, from 2:00 p.m., Thu Duc City Party Committee and district Party Committees (before the arrangement) will simultaneously hold a Ceremony to announce resolutions and decisions of Ho Chi Minh City related to 102 new wards and communes.

During this time, the Standing Committee of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee also directed the affiliated localities (before the arrangement) to organize the Ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the province related to commune-level and special-zone administrative units.
