Ho Chi Minh City has completed the trial operation of the two-level government, connecting 168 wards, communes and special zones, ready to officially deploy from July 1.

On June 25, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee and the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee held a conference to inspect and evaluate the trial operation of the 2-level government model throughout the new Ho Chi Minh City, connecting online to 168 wards, communes and special zones.

Through a report on the synthesis and supervision of some connecting points such as Con Dao district, Thanh An island commune and Saigon ward, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen acknowledged the efforts in preparation, the trial operation was stable and effective, the shared software system ensured smoothness.

With this positive result, the entire new Ho Chi Minh City government apparatus will officially operate from July 1.

The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee emphasized that July 1 is not only the time to hand over the new administrative model, but also a special milestone, a turning point in the journey of building and developing Ho Chi Minh City, after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

Therefore, the team of cadres and civil servants must maximize their sense of responsibility, efforts and determination to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

On June 30, the whole city and 168 wards, communes and special zones will simultaneously hold a ceremony to announce the Resolutions of the National Assembly, Decisions of the Central and local governments on merging administrative units; establishing Party organizations and the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the city, ward, commune and special zone levels.

The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested all levels, sectors and localities to clearly define their responsibilities in each working position, considering this an opportunity to demonstrate their capacity and spirit of serving the people.

Everyone must be highly focused, taking advantage of every hour and every minute to effectively carry out the task. Any subjective, passive, delayed, or avoided manifestations will be strictly considered and handled.

Along with the requirement to strengthen inspection, supervision and technical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the two-level administrative system, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also noted the need to quickly handle recommendations and problems arising during the implementation process.

"We must properly implement the direction of a government closer to the people, more timely sharing and solving work faster and more effectively for people and businesses" - Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen affirmed.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nen also directed a thorough review of facilities, transmission lines, software... to ensure uninterrupted operating conditions. The city will establish specialized teams to regularly inspect, detect and promptly handle all incidents and technical problems during operation.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc further informed that in order to prepare for the historic moment of July 1, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and leaders of the two provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau have met and agreed on a handover plan, completing personnel procedures and organizational structure of the new Ho Chi Minh City government.

Leaders of each locality are assigned to be in charge of on-site implementation, ensuring the completion of all work before June 30.
