Long Thanh International Airport has received more than 300 personnel
On August 12, Long Thanh International Airport (LTIA) announced that it had just received 119 more personnel, bringing the total number of existing personnel to more than 300 people. These newly received personnel from specialized departments and operating and operational centers at the Airport will continue to get acquainted with the environment, work, processes and operating pace of an airport that is being completed day by day.
Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has also developed a plan for training, coaching, and arranging personnel to participate in familiarizing with the equipment system at the Long Thanh International Airport project; at the same time, organizing practical work at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to accumulate experience and be ready for commercial operation.
According to LTIA, the total demand for this phase at Long Thanh International Airport is 1,032 personnel.
On August 11, the Labor Recruitment Council for Long Thanh International Airport also announced the recruitment of 9 positions including: Investment specialist; drivers and ground equipment operators (electric vehicles, self-propelled cranes, firefighters, ambulances...); maintenance and repair staff of technical equipment; construction maintenance and repair staff; technical equipment operators; parking lot inspection and supervision staff; airport and road cleaning staff; toll collection staff; medical staff.
Accordingly, the monthly salary for working at the Port is offered not lower than 16 million VND/month (for the general labor group, the monthly salary is not lower than 13 million VND/month).
Continue working with international airlines to finalize flight schedules
In addition, LTIA has organized working sessions with representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), domestic and international airlines, ground service units and related units to update operational preparations and agree on pilot implementation plans at the Port, exchange on operational plans of domestic and international airlines, aircraft, personnel and resources needs, thereby agreeing on coordination plans for the pilot phase.
LTIA also works on deploying testing, plans to mobilize aircraft, personnel, and equipment to serve the ground, and at the same time agrees on organizational and coordination plans to ensure effective, synchronous and close-to-reality testing.
According to the plan, testing activities at LTIA will be deployed in 3 phases from September to November 2026, with the participation of airlines and ground service units, to verify, complete the process and strengthen coordination before the Port officially operates.
Steps of preparation are being implemented by LTIA and related units, aiming for safe, synchronous, efficient operation and readiness for the first commercial flights.
Previously, ACV also officially received airport operation registrations from domestic airlines including: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Vietravel Airlines.
Accordingly, ACV has worked with Vietravel Airlines on commercial operation plans at Long Thanh airport from the end of 2026 and increased operating frequency from the summer flight schedule in 2027; Vietjet Air commits to maintaining operation of at least 2 international routes; Vietnam Airlines proposes to transfer some international routes from Tan Son Nhat to Long Thanh, with a proportion of about 12% of the airline's international flights.
ACV also exchanged views on the layout plan to serve Vietnam Airlines and VIAGS, including check-in counter areas, kiosks, luggage self-delivery areas, departure gates, luggage conveyor belts, Premium Check-in Lounge, CIP Lounge international and CIP domestic.
For foreign airlines, LTIA has also worked with representatives of 34 international airlines such as Korean Air, All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines to discuss and prepare operating plans according to the plan.
According to LTIA representatives, currently, in addition to Vietnamese airlines, LTIA is still working with international airlines to finalize flight schedules.
