On the morning of August 28, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City organized a meeting to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026).
Speaking to review traditions, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - emphasized that this is an opportunity to review the heroic pages of the nation's history together; remember and appreciate generations who sacrificed and contributed to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. At the same time, look back at the past journey to add faith, will and determination to build Can Tho City in a new development stage.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen clearly stated that Can Tho today is facing a period of development of special significance, with a new development space, greater potential, higher requirements and greater expectations.
Can Tho not only inherits the tradition of a land rich in identity, affection and revolution; but is also facing the opportunity to strongly promote the central role of the Mekong Delta region. This poses a very clear requirement for us that a new development space must go hand in hand with new thinking; new thinking must go hand in hand with new ways of doing things; and new ways of doing things must create specific results for people and businesses," Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee said.
In the coming time, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee requested to focus on exploiting the potential and advantages of the new development space to the best; promote growth, remove difficulties for businesses, accelerate the progress of important projects and works; strongly develop trade, services, logistics, processing industry, science - technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The city strives to implement solutions according to the growth scenario, determined to achieve a growth rate of 10% or more by the end of the year.
Continue to better care for the fields of culture - society, education, health, employment, social security; pay attention to people with meritorious services, policy families and those in difficult circumstances.
On the occasion of this year's National Day, the Party Committee of Can Tho City organized the awarding of Party Badges to senior Party members.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee emphasized that the Party Committee and City Government always appreciate the contributions of the comrades and hope that, with their experience, intelligence and prestige, the comrades will continue to accompany, contribute ideas, and contribute ideas for the development of the city.
