The two-goal advantage helps the atmosphere of the first training session after the first leg to be quite comfortable. However, the coaching staff and players still maintain high concentration, because 90 minutes at My Dinh Stadium is the match that decides the opportunity to defend the ASEAN Cup championship.
Before the afternoon training session on August 24 in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of the Vietnamese national team delegation at ASEAN Cup 2026, met and reminded the players about the requirement to maintain concentration in the final preparation stage.

Today we have to set foot on the ground, after the praise, the praise on the internet and then all brothers, friends, family. That is all very happy, very proud of us. But for that joy to continue, that pride to continue, we still have the second leg match," said Mr. Tran Anh Tu.
The head of the Vietnamese team also noted that Thailand will definitely enter the second leg with high determination after the defeat at home. Therefore, the whole team needs to focus maximally in training sessions and matches to preserve the advantage.
After the exchange, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team entered the training session with a serious spirit. The coaching staff continued to review and adjust tactical plans, while maintaining the physical foundation and the best playing state for the players.

The 2-0 victory in the first leg gives the Vietnamese team a significant advantage before the decisive match. However, the coaching staff determined that the two-goal gap is not a basis for subjectivity, as Thailand still has 90 minutes at My Dinh Stadium to find opportunities to reverse the situation.
The second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 PM on August 26th at My Dinh National Stadium. The Vietnamese team needs to preserve their advantage after the first leg to complete the goal of defending the championship.
