According to the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, by the afternoon of September 11, in Ninh Binh province, the number of houses flooded due to floods on Hoang Long river was 1,005, concentrated in areas outside the dike.
Of which, Gia Vien district has 444 flooded and isolated houses (402 flooded houses and 42 isolated houses in Gia Hoa commune) in the communes: Gia Thinh, Gia Tien, Gia Phong, Gia Hoa; 2 schools in Kenh Ga village, Gia Thinh commune were affected by flooding.
In Nho Quan district, 561 houses were flooded in the communes of Xich Tho, Gia Thuy, Lac Van, Gia Lam, and Dong Phong.
According to the Ninh Binh Province Hydrometeorological Station, the water level on the Hoang Long and Day rivers in Ninh Binh has exceeded alert level 3. This unit has upgraded the flood disaster risk level to level 3, along with warnings of widespread flooding in riverside and low-lying areas when river water rises and heavy rains occur.
At noon today (September 11), the rising water of the Hoang Long River flooded about 800 households living outside the dike in Gia Vien district, forcing thousands of people to evacuate their people and property to higher ground or move to safety.
According to Mr. Tran Duy Nhat - Chairman of Gia Thinh Commune People's Committee, Gia Vien District, the entire Kenh Ga area with 683 households is completely isolated. For many days now, more than 200 students from primary and preschool schools located in Kenh Ga have had to stay home from school.
In Nho Quan district, the flooded areas are mainly outside the dike, in the communes of Duc Long, Lac Van, Gia Thuy, Gia Son, Xich Tho... Currently, more than 300 households are flooded from 0.2 - 0.8m.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has sent a telegram to departments, branches, members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, and Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and cities to regularly monitor developments and update the flood situation.
The Provincial People's Committee strictly prohibits boats from anchoring on the dike slopes, dike embankments, and electric poles on the riverbanks, affecting the safety of the dike and the power grid; temporarily suspends the operation of ferry piers and ferry piers on the river until the flood recedes; strictly prohibits heavy-duty vehicles from running on the dike...
In the coming days, the hydrometeorological agency warns of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, steep slopes, and communes in Nho Quan and Hoa Lu districts and Tam Diep city.
