On the afternoon of May 21, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a flood warning bulletin on the Thuong River system.
Recorded at 1:00 PM on the same day, the water level downstream of the Thuong River is rising slowly; specifically at Phu Lang Thuong station, it reached 2.81 m, below alarm level 1.
According to the forecast of the meteorological agency, from the afternoon of May 21 to May 23, a flood will appear in the downstream area of the Thuong River.
The flood peak at Phu Lang Thuong station is forecast to exceed alarm level 1.
Accompanying the upward tide, there is a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas along the river. In particular, people in Lang Son and Bac Ninh provinces need to be wary of flash floods and landslides on slopes.
Functional agencies assess the level of natural disaster risk due to this flood at level 1. The flood situation may directly affect waterway traffic, aquaculture, agricultural production, as well as people's lives and socio-economic activities in the area.
