On the evening of September 18, the Command (BTL) of Coast Guard Region 4 promptly mobilized vehicles and successfully rescued 4 fishermen in distress in the Southwest sea.
At 5:30 p.m. on September 18, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 received information from Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, located in Quarter 4, Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang, about the fishing boat CM 995xx TS and its crew members having an accident in the sea area about 5 nautical miles from An Thoi archipelago.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 asked for instructions from the Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard, and at the same time, mobilized CSB 3008 ship anchored at Squadron 422 port (in Phu Quoc) to quickly and mobilely carry out search and rescue tasks.
After nearly 2 hours of searching in the conditions of night, thunderstorms, wind and waves of level 5, level 6, and at 7:30 p.m. the same day, CSB 3008 reached the area where the CM 995xx TS ship was in distress.
At this time, due to big waves and strong winds, the fishing boat was broken and sank, and the people on the boat were drifting at sea. Officers and soldiers of CSB 3008 quickly launched the working boat using a large capacity headlight and searched and rescued all 4 people to bring them to the Coast Guard safely.

The 4 people include: Mr. Vo Thanh Minh (born in 1973) ship captain, Mr. Lam Van Tot (born in 1965), Mr. Duong Hong Tay Tang (born in 1972) all with permanent addresses in Ha Tien, An Giang and Mr. Danh Khoe (born in 1995) with addresses in Chau Thanh, An Giang.
After bringing the fishermen in distress to the Ship, the authorities of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command organized health check-ups, medical care for the injured and provided clothes, medicine, food, and drinking water, while encouraging and reassuring the fishermen in distress.
At 10:00 p.m. the same day, CSB Ship 3008 docked at Squadron 422 to ensure absolute safety and handed over the 4 fishermen in distress to the owner of fishing boat CM 995xx TS. All 4 people were mentally stable and in normal health.
