On September 17, the Border Guard Commander of Duong Dong Port, the Command of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard, said: The unit has just directed the Bai Vong Border Control Station to receive 4 people in distress at sea, handed over by the passenger transport ship Thriving 16 and the Superdong VII.
Previously, on the morning of September 17, the Thriving 16 ship departed for transporting passengers from Rach Gia port to Bai Vong port, Phu Quoc special zone. At around 9:30 a.m., the two men were discovered drifting at sea. The captain sent the boat back to rescue the two victims and got on board and continued the journey.
On the same morning, the Superdong VII ship departed from Rach Gia port to Bai Vong port. At around 9am, they discovered 2 people drifting at sea. The captain sent the boat back to pick up the two victims and boarded them, then continued the journey.
Upon arriving at the port, the captains of the two ships carried out procedures to hand over the 4 victims to the Border Guard.

According to these 4 victims, they were fishing at sea when they encountered big waves and strong winds that sank the boat. After being cared for and encouraged, the 4 people have recovered their health.
The An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command directed units to monitor the incident and coordinate to resolve issues related to the above accident.
The Board of Directors of Thanh Thoi Ferry Company and passengers also donated 18 million VND to support the 4 victims.
