From September 9 to September 11, An Giang Provincial People's Committee and Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee coordinated to deploy a peak period of coercion, forcing to remedy the consequences for a series of cases of intentionally occupying and not handing over public land and land belonging to the Phu Quoc National Park project.
Implementing the Decisions issued by the People's Committee of An Giang province, functional forces have carried out coercion against 3 individuals intentionally encroaching on project land managed by Phu Quoc National Park in Sub-area 75, Ong Lang neighborhood, Cua Duong, Phu Quoc special zone.
Although they have been mobilized many times since April 2026, these households have not voluntarily handed over. The An Giang provincial government forced the violating individuals to return a total of more than 61,500 m2 of land to Phu Quoc National Park, restore the original state, and forced them to return the illegal profit of more than 1 billion VND and bear all coercive costs.
Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee also resolutely handles cases of "self-dismantling assets but resolutely refusing to carry out land handover procedures". There are 3 cases forced to hand over more than 6,000 m2 of land and return illegal profits. Previously, 1 case of encroachment of more than 148 m2 of special-use forest land in Chuong Vich hamlet was also forced to be recovered.
Previously, on September 9, the Phu Quoc special zone government launched a campaign to enforce 4 complex violations in Rach Ham Quarter (Ham Ninh commune). The handling phase has recovered nearly 2.2 hectares of public land and agricultural land managed by the State and recovered illegal profits.
Besides the cases of coercion, the review also recorded positive signals when 2 households voluntarily dismantled the works and handed over the land after propaganda and mobilization work.
The resolute and thorough handling of no forbidden zones for land encroachment acts in Phu Quoc in recent days is an affirmation of the spirit of respecting the law, aiming to restore discipline in land management and protect resources for sustainable development.
