Expressway connecting Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City opens to traffic more than 18km before Tet

Dong Nai - Sub-project 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, more than 18km long, has reached 87% construction, technically opening to traffic before the 2026 Lunar New Year.

On January 25, according to information from Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), as of mid-January 2026, the total construction output of component project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, passing through Dong Nai province, reached nearly 3,600 billion VND, reaching 87% of the signed contract value.

Currently, the project has completed a number of main construction volumes. In which, the route section has completed the items of soil filling, crushing, cement reinforcement and asphalt concrete of the main route section, which is more than 18km long.

Currently, contractors are completing the remaining branch lines.

Component project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway has a length of more than 18km, and is being implemented for investment and construction in Dong Nai province.

According to the plan, the project will technically open the entire route before the 2026 Lunar New Year, connecting the component project 3 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway (Ho Chi Minh City section).

Component project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway according to the design, the section from the beginning of the route to Tan Hiep intersection (about Km29+800) has a complete scale of 8 lanes, roadbed width of 39.75m; phased investment phase of 6 lanes, width of 32.25m.

The sections through Long Thanh, airport and Tan Hiep intersections are completed right in phase 1. In which, the airport intersection has a scale of 8 lanes. The section from Tan Hiep intersection to the end of the route is completed with 6 lanes, phased in 4 lanes.
