Bustling from early morning
Recorded by reporters at package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (section passing through An Giang province), from early morning, the sound of rollers, bulldozers, and dump trucks carrying soil and rocks has echoed continuously. On the main route, groups of workers divided up to take on the items: roadbed construction workers, drainage culvert installation workers, taluy reinforcement workers...
Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - bulldozer operator - shared: "The workers determined that this is a key national project, so everyone is clearly aware of their responsibilities. During Tet, the team of workers still works across the construction site, determined to maintain progress to promptly open the entire route to traffic on June 30, 2026 according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

Under the harsh sun of the Mekong Delta, sweat soaks our backs, but we still stick to the construction site. Many people have been attached for many months, gradually getting used to the'3 shifts, 4 shifts' working schedule, throughout the holidays to ensure progress," Mr. Viet added.
Mr. Duong Van Huy - Construction Technical Team of package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project - confided: "Working at the construction site is hard, with erratic sunshine and rain, but the brothers always encourage each other to try harder. Being able to contribute a part of their efforts to complete the expressway soon, helping people travel more conveniently, and the local economy develop, everyone is proud.
Maintain construction pace, stick to progress
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project is expected to open a strategic traffic axis, connecting the Southwest border area with the delta center and the seaport system. The section through An Giang province plays an important role in completing the transport infrastructure network, creating motivation for socio-economic development of the locality.
Captain Tran Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Truong Son 11 Steering Committee (12th Corps) - said that currently there are about 150 officials, engineers, and workers at the construction site, along with nearly 100 vehicles and machinery and equipment mobilized. Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, the unit organizes continuous construction "3 shifts, 4 crews", working day and night. During the Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the team of officials, engineers, and workers will not return to their hometowns but will continue to stick to the construction site.

Up to now, package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project has reached a construction volume of 73.8%. We identify this as a project of particular importance to the people of the Mekong Delta, especially the people of the border area of An Giang province. Therefore, despite many difficulties, the collective of officials, engineers and workers is determined to strive to complete and open the entire route to traffic on June 30, 2026 according to the direction of the Prime Minister," Captain Tran Minh Thanh emphasized.
According to Captain Tran Minh Thanh, to ensure progress, many construction teams are arranged to work in flexible shifts. At night, under the lights of the construction site, vehicles carrying materials still line up to enter and exit. Construction teams are continuously deployed, ensuring technical quality and labor safety.
