Construction site "red fire" in the hot sun
From early morning, when the sun had just risen, the atmosphere at the construction site of package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (section through An Giang province) was bustling with the sound of machinery. Road rollers, dump trucks, and cranes operate continuously. Each group of workers divided their shifts, some leveled the roadbed, some transported stones, some drove a wheelchair... creating a picture of urgent and bustling labor.
According to the reporter's report at noon on December 15, despite the harsh heat covering the construction site, the construction teams and teams still maintained a regular working rhythm, taking advantage of every hour and day to complete the project and put it into operation soon.

While quickly wiping away the drops of sweat on his forehead, Mr. Duong Van Huy - Technical Team for the construction of package 42, Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project - shared: "This type of sunshine works outdoors very tiring, sometimes even dizzy because of the heat. But this is a big project, everyone is aware of their responsibility so they should try to stick with the job. I just hope to do it quickly and make sure that the road will be completed soon".
Holding on to the construction site for general progress
Not only Mr. Huy, many workers said that the prolonged heat caused the labor intensity to increase rapidly. However, the working spirit is still maintained thanks to the timely attention and encouragement of the Construction Site Command and full support for living conditions.
Captain Tran Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Truong Son 11 Executive Board (Army Corps 12) - said: "The Executive Board arranged working hours early, while ensuring adequate drinking water, protective gear, and cooling fans so that the workers could work with peace of mind. When tired, workers are given a reasonable rest and continue working".

According to Dai up Thanh, many workers working at the construction site come from the Central and Western provinces, far from home. Everyone hopes that the project will be completed soon so that they can have stable income and contribute to the construction of a transport infrastructure system for the Southwest region.
By the end of November 2025, package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project had reached about 70% of the construction volume, exceeding the progress by 1.2%. Currently, there are about 150 officers, engineers, workers and more than 200 machines and equipment on the construction site, organizing construction in 3 shifts, 4 teams, Captain Tran Minh Thanh informed.
Mr. Thanh emphasized: "We identify this as a project of great significance for the people of the Mekong Delta, especially the people of the border area of An Giang province. Therefore, despite many difficulties, the staff, engineers and workers are determined to complete the project on schedule, ensuring the quality of the project".
