On August 27, at the Ba Lai 8 bridge construction site, Thanh Phuoc commune, the Vinh Long Provincial Traffic Project Management Board organized the closure of the main span of Ba Lai 8 bridge on the coastal road.
At the ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates performed the ceremony of excavating concrete to close the main span. The official closing to connect the structure of the Ba Lai river overpass marks an important technical milestone, bringing the project into the completion phase.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son affirmed that the completion of the main span after 22 months of construction is an important milestone, showing the determination to accelerate investment in strategic transport infrastructure, especially infrastructure serving the development of the eastern province.
According to the Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, when Ba Lai 8 bridge and items on the coastal road are completed, the connectivity between areas will be improved, creating conditions to better exploit the potential and advantages of the marine economy, while forming more development space and attracting investment resources.
This is a premise to promote industry, logistics, trade, services and economic activities associated with the coastal corridor, activating new development drivers, creating more jobs and improving people's lives," Mr. Nguyen Truc Son emphasized.
Provincial leaders requested the investor, contractor, consulting unit, supervision unit and localities to continue to closely coordinate, focus on completing the remaining volume, ensuring quality, technical and aesthetic requirements and project safety.
Immediately after the assembly, the contractor continued to stretch prestressed cables, complete the bridge deck, expansion joints, railings and accelerate the construction of approach road items at both ends of the bridge.
The Ba Lai 8 bridge construction project has a total investment of 2,255 billion VND, of which the central budget supports 1,499.8 billion VND, and the local budget counterparts 755.2 billion VND. The total length of the route is 3,365.32m, including the main bridge and approach roads at both ends of the bridge, and was started on August 1, 2024.
