Construction in a rolling manner
At the beginning of July, after a period of delay due to site clearance issues, the Ba Lai 6 and Ba Lai 8 bridge projects simultaneously accelerated construction. Many fronts and many shifts of work were continuously deployed to compensate for progress and soon complete key projects.
At the Ba Lai 6 bridge construction site, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ha - official of the Construction Management Board - said that so far the implemented volume has reached about 20%. Currently, the project is still facing site clearance issues in the abutment area B (one of the 2 banks), so the unit organizes construction in a rolling manner.
According to Mr. Ha, wherever the site is handed over, the unit immediately deploys construction to avoid wasting waiting time. The construction site currently maintains 3 consecutive shifts, arranging many construction teams simultaneously in the bridge pier and onshore items.
Flexible construction organization helps the project maintain progress in conditions where there is no complete site clearance. The contractor also proactively transfers equipment and personnel between items to maximize time and minimize impact on the overall project plan.

Meanwhile, at the Ba Lai 8 bridge project, progress has reached about 70% after site difficulties were gradually removed, creating conditions for the construction unit to accelerate in recent months.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cuc - Commander of Ba Lai 8 bridge project - said that the project was delayed in 2025 due to site clearance problems. From the beginning of 2026, when the site was fully handed over, the unit mobilized about 70 workers to work shifts day and night.
According to Mr. Cuc, the contractor is focusing maximum resources to bring the project to completion early. It is expected that by September 2026, the Ba Lai 8 bridge approach span will be closed and completed, putting the project into operation in 2027 according to the plan.
Urging progress, clearing ground for the project to reach the finish line
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Huynh Bao Thang - Head of Project Management Department 2, Vinh Long Provincial Traffic Project Management Board - said that Ba Lai 8 bridge has a total investment of 2,255 billion VND. The project is accelerating the construction of bridge and approach road items after many locations were handed over land.
According to Mr. Thang, the Project Management Board regularly inspects the site, requesting contractors to mobilize maximum manpower and equipment, maintain many construction fronts, and promptly remove arising difficulties to compensate for progress and ensure the completion of items according to plan.
The biggest difficulty of Ba Lai 8 bridge currently is that about 3km of forest land at the beginning of the route has not been handed over, affecting the synchronous deployment of the access road. The transportation of materials also encounters obstacles due to the Ba Lai river being shallow and narrow.

In addition, strong fluctuations in construction material prices have increased project implementation costs. The investor is coordinating with local authorities to remove site obstacles, and at the same time coordinate materials suitable for transportation conditions to ensure progress.
For Ba Lai 6 bridge, the project has a total investment of 600 billion VND, starting construction in December 2025. The contractor has completed drilled piles at the main pillars and deployed many construction fronts in a rolling manner on the clean ground.
According to Mr. Thang, Chau Hung commune has handed over the entire site, creating conditions for the construction unit to open many independent fronts. However, Luong Hoa commune is still entangled in compensation and cannot construct abutment B and access roads.
In the coming time, the Project Management Board will continue to coordinate with localities to accelerate compensation payments and soon hand over clean ground. As soon as there is land, the contractor will open more construction teams, promote on-site concrete mixing stations to compensate for progress, ensuring project completion on schedule.
