Earlier, at 5:30 p.m. the same day, the family asked permission to take Luc back to his hometown for the last time. 13-year-old Vi Quyet Chien - who is famous for his 103km journey with his shoes as a brake on his bicycle from Son La to Hanoi, did not know this.
Expressing his feelings to Lao Dong reporter at noon on April 21, Mr. Vi Van Nam - Vi Quyet Chien's father choked up: "Yesterday, we took Luc from the National Children's Hospital back to his hometown at 5:30 am. At 8:30 a.m., the car broke in front of the house, and he was reunited with Chien, his sister and grandparents. Just 10 minutes after returning home, the doctor had to remove the oxygen tank and the child stopped breathing."

Mr. Nam said that Chien and his younger sister cried silently. The two brothers could only hold each other and cry, sitting there crying all night. At 3am, the couple loved their child very much, but no matter how encouraged he was, he still sat at his altar.

Chien's younger brother suffered from severe hepatitis due to metabolic disorders in premature babies, and the child also suffered from pneumonia and malnutrition.
