The BQ7 road project connecting National Highway 70 (old Ban Phiet commune, now belonging to Lao Cai ward) to Na Loc village, Ban Lau commune (old Muong Khuong district) has a total investment of more than 30 billion VND, approved from 2019, invested by the Bao Thang Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Although the road has been completed since 2024, the bridge on the route has not been cleared to date, becoming a prolonged bottleneck.

Reporters' records at the end of April 2026 show that the bridge project is still under construction. Meanwhile, the demand for transporting agricultural products, especially pineapples in the peak season, is increasing, making traffic pressure even greater.
Mr. Truong Van San (resident of village K8, Lao Cai ward) said that traveling is currently very inconvenient.
The road has been built for a long time but the bridge has not been completed, large vehicles cannot enter. To transport agricultural products or construction materials, small vehicles must be used, transferred many times, so costs increase. Not only expensive but also very hard," Mr. San said.

According to people, having to transship many routes not only increases freight rates but also prolongs the time, affecting the quality of agricultural products when consumed.
Not only that, the temporary bridge has deteriorated while the number of vehicles passing through is large, posing many risks, especially when the rainy and flood season is approaching.
Mr. Phan Van Hoi - Secretary of the Party cell of village K8 informed that this situation directly affects the lives of more than 100 households around the area.
The bridge is not finished, so travel is very difficult. Large trucks carrying construction materials cannot enter, affecting the construction of people. Agricultural products in the harvest season are also not transported conveniently, costs have increased," Mr. Hoi explained.

According to Mr. Hoi, previously, the construction unit said it would install the bridge girder in December 2025. However, now it has entered the second quarter of 2026, the project has not yet completed the foundation.
Worryingly, the area at both ends of the bridge is not completed, the road surface is slippery, causing many dangers for students' travel.
When people asked about the progress, the unit just smiled and said that the technology had not met expectations. Therefore, people really hope the project will be completed soon to make travel safer," Mr. Hoi added.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Ngo Huu Vu - technical officer of Hong Phat One Member Limited Liability Company (construction unit) said that the bridge project started in May 2025, and is currently deploying the bridge foundation. During the construction process, drilled piles encountered hard stones, so the progress was affected.
It is expected that the girder installation will be carried out in the next 1-2 months. The unit is focusing manpower and equipment to accelerate progress, striving to complete the entire bridge in the next 2-3 months," Mr. Vu said.

Mr. Tran Tien Thanh - official of the Bao Thang area Construction Investment Project Management Board informed that the main items such as casting bridge girders and embankments along the stream have been basically completed and bridge piers are currently under construction.
The expected progress is until the end of May. The remaining volume is mainly for installing girders and completing bridge piers. Due to the large volume of vehicles carrying agricultural products and heavy trucks passing through, the road is temporarily deteriorating quickly, the unit will organize repairs and timely remediation," Mr. Thanh said.
According to Mr. Thanh, in response to feedback that students have difficulty walking and are slippery at both ends of the bridge, the unit will proceed to spread stone to ensure safety while waiting for the road surface and bridge to be completed.
