"In the immediate future, a pontoon bridge will be installed. The pontoon bridge must be sturdy and ensure absolute traffic safety, especially during times of rain and floods. The old bridge cannot be repaired. To ensure that the road will be blocked with a hard fence, the Ministry will propose building a new bridge," said the Deputy Minister of Transport.
According to Phu Tho Provincial Police, due to the impact of rain and floods, at about 10:02 a.m. on September 9, a span of Phong Chau Bridge, which flows across the Red River in the area of Van Xuan Commune (Tam Nong District) and Phung Nguyen Commune (Lam Thao District), collapsed.
