Wood workshop fire in residential area in Hai Phong

Hai Phong - A wood workshop located in a residential area caught fire fiercely but was extinguished by the fire prevention and fighting force after half an hour.

At about 8:45 pm on June 14, a wood storage warehouse at 996 Nguyen Binh Khiem, Hai An ward, Hai Phong city, caught fire fiercely. Because the wood workshop was located in the middle of a residential area, when the fire broke out, many people around were worried.

Immediately after that, the fire police force arrived at the scene, controlling the fire after about half an hour. Right next to the wood workshop, there was a 76-year-old woman living alone, who did not know that the wood workshop was on fire, so she was still in the house. After that, she was broken down and taken out safely by the fire police.

It is known that the wood workshop is a level 4 house with a corrugated iron roof, which has been operating for many years in this area, specializing in purchasing wood and then processing it into lining sheets in containers.

Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Hai An Ward People's Committee said: Immediately after the fire occurred, the fire police force was present at the scene to put out the fire. By about 9:30 pm, the fire was basically under control. No casualties.

It is known that people around have repeatedly petitioned the local authorities about the fact that the wood workshop is located right in a residential area, regularly causing environmental pollution and potential fire and explosion risks.

Regarding this issue, the leader of Hai An ward said that he just came to the ward, so now he knows about the people's petition. "On June 15, I will send forces to inspect the operating conditions of the warehouse, handle it, and ensure safety for the people" - the leader of Hai An Ward People's Committee said.

The case is currently being handled by functional forces according to regulations.
