On the afternoon of August 4, Mr. Tran Nhat Thi - Chairman of the People's Committee of Di Linh commune (Lam Dong province) said that the unit is directing the inspection and review of the entire system of electrical wires and telecommunication cables in the area to ensure the safety of the people.
The Commune People's Committee has assigned competent authorities to coordinate with the electricity sector and telecommunications units to inspect all routes, especially at intersections connecting to National Highway 20. The goal is to promptly handle power and cable systems at risk of being unsafe.
The commune also directed the police to coordinate with the provincial Traffic Police to increase patrols and strictly handle cases of oversized and overloaded vehicles - to prevent the situation of cable breaks like the incident that occurred on the morning of August 3.
Previously, at 1:37 a.m. on August 3, a truck carrying an excavator was traveling from Ly Thuong Kiet Street to National Highway 20. When reaching the intersection, the machinery hit the telecommunication cable, causing the cable to break and fall onto the road.
At 5:24 a.m. the same day, Mr. Le Viet Anh (born in 1961, residing in Di Linh commune) was riding a motorbike through the area when he got caught with a cable, fell onto the road, injured and had to be hospitalized for emergency care.
On the afternoon of August 4, the leaders of Di Linh commune visited Lam Dong General Hospital to visit, encourage Mr. Le Viet Anh and give 5 million VND in support to the family.
