Details of 13 key transport projects to be completed in 2025 in the Southern region

Can Tho - According to the Ministry of Construction, there are currently 21 key transport projects in the Southern region. Of which, 13 projects will be completed in 2025.

On July 13, a conference on the implementation of the two-level local government model; progress of implementing key transport projects and sustainable development project for 1 million hectares of specialized rice in the Mekong Delta took place.

According to the report of the Ministry of Construction, there are currently 21 key transport projects in the Southern region. Of which, there are 13 projects to be completed in 2025 with a total length of 354km (including 336km under the plan to complete 3,000km of expressway).

Specifically, the Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau expressways are 110.87km long; the Cao Lanh - Lo Te expressways are 28.8km long; the Lo Te - Rach Soi expressways are 51.5km long; the Rach Mieu 2 bridge is 17.6km long; the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway component project (DATP) 2 is 18.2km long.

DATP 1 of Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway is managed by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for a length of 16km; DATP1 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is managed by the People's Committee of 16km, DATP3 of Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City for 11.26km, managed by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province; DATP3 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is managed by the People's Committee of 19km, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (DATP1 is managed by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for a length of 47km, DATP5 is managed by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for 11.3km; DATP 7 of Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City for 6.37km, managed by the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province.

8 projects will be completed after 2025 with a total length of 294.6km. Of which, the Ho Chi Minh road section of Rach Soi - Ben Nhat, Go Quao - Vinh Thuan is 51.94km long, completed in 2026; the My An - Cao Lanh expressway is 26.6km long, expected to start construction in August 2025, completed in 2028; Dai Ngai bridge is 15.14km long, completed in 2028.

Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway, completed in July 2026; DATP 2 of Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway, 11.43km long, is managed by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, completed in 2027.

For investment preparation projects, the 91km long Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, including 2 DATPs (Ca Mau - Cai Nuoc, Cai Nuoc - Dat Mui), is completing procedures to start construction on August 19, 2025.

The 17km connecting road project to Hon Khoai port is completing procedures to start construction on August 19, 2025. The Hon Khoai Port project is completing investment procedures.

Previously, on the afternoon of July 12, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh led a working group of the Ministry to inspect the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project.

A representative of the My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) said that up to this point, the total construction output of the project has reached 69%.

At the inspection, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh noted that the project must be completed by December 19 under the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Therefore, the Minister requested investors to mobilize all resources, direct contractors to increase human resources and equipment, and speed up the project's progress.

For locations that are eligible for unloading, the Minister of Construction requested that construction units roll the rolling with the spirit of "make each section to complete that section", ensuring synchronous operation of the route.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh also requested investors and related units to closely monitor and control subsidence monitoring data at large-scale bridges. Therefore, when conditions are met, the loads will be dismantled and immediately transferred to the construction of the road surface structure.
