Cao Bang - After the merger, the locality will form 56 new commune and ward-level administrative units.

Cao Bang province has just announced the Project to reorganize commune-level administrative units, accordingly reducing the number of communes, wards and towns from 161 to 56.

Currently, Cao Bang province has a natural area of over 6,700 km2, with a population of about 573,119 people. The province has 10 district-level administrative units (including 9 districts and 1 city) with a total of 161 commune-level administrative units, including 8 wards, 139 communes and 14 towns. After the merger of communes, Cao Bang ward will have 56 new commune-level administrative units (including 3 wards and 53 communes).

Cao Bang City - From 11 current communes and wards, 3 new wards will be established:

Thuc Phan ward: Merge Song Hien, De Tham, Hop Giang wards, Hung Dao commune and Hoang Tung commune (belonging to Hoa An district).

Tan Giang ward: Merge Tan Giang, Duyet Trung, Hoa Chung wards, Chu Trinh commune and Le Chung commune (Hoa An).

Nung Tri Cao Ward: Merge Song Bang Ward, Ngoc Xuan Ward and Vinh Quang Commune.

Bao Lac District - From 17 communes, 8 new communes were established:

Son Lo commune: Merge Son Lo commune and Son Lap commune.

Hung Dao commune: Merge Hung Thinh, Hung Dao and Kim Cuc communes.

Bao Lac commune: Merge Bao Lac town, Bao Toan and Hong Tri communes.

Coc Pang commune: Merge Coc Pang commune and Duc Hanh commune (belonging to Bao Lam district).

Thuong Ha commune: Merge Thuong Ha commune and Co Ba commune.

Khanh Xuan commune: Merging Phan Thanh and Khanh Xuan communes.

Xuan Truong commune: Merging Xuan Truong and Hong An communes.

Huy Giap commune: Merge Huy Giap and Dinh Phung communes.

Bao Lam District - From 13 communes, 5 new communes will be established:

Quang Lam commune: Merge Quang Lam and Thach Lam communes.

Nam Quang commune: Merge Nam Quang and Nam Cao communes.

Ly Bon commune: Merge Ly Bon and Vinh Quang communes.

Bao Lam commune: Merge Mong An commune, Vinh Phong and Pac Mieu town.

Yen Tho commune: Merging Yen Tho, Thai Son and Thai Hoc communes.

Ha Lang District - From 13 communes, 4 new communes will be established:

Ha Lang commune: Merging Thanh Nhat town, Thong Nhat and Thi Hoa communes.

Ly Quoc commune: Merge Ly Quoc, Minh Long and Dong Loan communes.

Vinh Quy commune: Merge Kim Loan, An Lac, Co Ngan and Vinh Quy communes.

Thang Loi commune: Merging An Lac, Duc Quang and Kim Loan communes.

Ha Quang District - From 21 communes, 7 new communes will be established:

Thanh Long commune: Merge Yen Son, Ngoc Dong and Thanh Long communes.

Can Yen commune: Merging Can Nong, Can Yen and Luong Thon communes.

Thong Nong commune: Merging Thong Nong town, Luong Can and Da Thong communes.

Truong Ha commune: Merging Xuan Hoa town, Quy Quan commune, Soc Ha and Truong Ha.

Ha Quang commune: Merging Ngoc Dao, Ma Ba and Hong Sy communes.

Lung Nam commune: Merge Lung Nam commune and Thuong Thon.

Tong Cot Commune: Merge Tong Cot Commune, Noi Thon and Cai Vien.

Hoa An District - From 15 communes, 4 new communes will be established:

Nam Tuan commune: Merge Nam Tuan, Duc Long and Dan Chu communes.

Hoa An commune: Merging Nuoc Hai town, Hong Viet and Dai Tien communes.

Bach Dang commune: Merge Bach Dang, Binh Duong and Thinh Vuong communes (Thinh Vuong commune, Nguyen Binh district).

Nguyen Hue commune: Merge Nguyen Hue, Quang Trung and Ngu Lao communes.

Nguyen Binh District - From 17 communes, 7 new communes were established:

Ca Thanh commune: Merging Ca Thanh and Yen Lac communes.

Phan Thanh commune: Merging Phan Thanh and Mai Long communes.

Thanh Cong commune: Merging Thanh Cong and Quang Thanh communes.

Tam Kim commune: Merging Hung Dao, Tam Kim and Hoa Tham communes.

Nguyen Binh commune: Merging Nguyen Binh town, The Duc and Vu Minh communes.

Tinh Tuc commune: Merging Tinh Tuc town, Trieu Nguyen and Vu Nong communes.

Minh Tam commune: Merge Minh Tam commune and Truong Luong commune (belonging to Hoa An district).

Quang Hoa District - From 19 communes, 5 new communes will be established:

Phuc Hoa commune: Merge Hoa Thuan town, Ta Lung town, My Hung and Dai Son communes.

Be Van Dan commune: Merging Be Van Dan commune, Cach Linh and Hong Quang.

Doc Lap commune: Merge Quang Hung, Doc Lap and Cai Bo communes.

Quang Uyen commune: Merge Quang Uyen town, Phi Hai commune, Chi Thao and Phuc Sen.

Hanh Phuc commune: Merging Ngoc Dong, Tu Do and Hanh Phuc communes.

Thach An District - From 14 communes, 6 new communes will be established:

Minh Khai commune: Merging Minh Khai and Quang Trong communes.

Canh Tan Commune: Merging Canh Tan and Duc Thong Communes.

Kim Dong commune: Merging Kim Dong, Thai Cuong and Hong Nam communes (belonging to Hoa An).

Thach An commune: Merge Le Lai, Van Trinh and Tien Thanh communes (belonging to Quang Hoa).

Dong Khe commune: Merge Dong Khe town, Duc Xuan and Trong Con communes.

Duc Long commune: Merge Duc Long, Thuy Hung and Le Loi communes.

Trung Khanh District - From 21 communes, 7 new communes were established:
