On April 14, talking with PV, Mr. Luc Van Giap - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Thao Commune - said that yesterday (April 13), there was a forest fire in the area.
"The fire spread about 10 hectares of protective forests, the reason was caused by a resident of burning elephants at the fields close to the foot of the mountain, spreading fire to the forest" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Thao Commune Information.

Regarding the above incident, the People's Committee of Quang Hoa district had a quick report on the cause and process of the fire. Accordingly, Mr. Ma Kien Giang (residing in Yen Lac hamlet, Chi Thao commune), burning elephant grass at the fields close to the foot of the mountain, then the fire spreads quickly to the forest area at the 12th plot, sub -area 369 - where there is rugged terrain, many vertical cliffs, dry crossbow carpets and high winds in the Northeast makes the fire spread faster.
The fire started at 8:40 am, until about 21h the same day, the fire was controlled. Upon receiving the news, the commune police force and the people were present at the scene for fire fighting but failed due to complicated terrain.
The government of Chi Thao and Quang Hoa districts quickly mobilized a total of 245 people including police, military, rangers, commune officials, militia and local people. The provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department also mobilized 8 more officials and 1 fire engines to the scene.

After analyzing the situation, the forces determined not to access directly to put out the fire but the organization opened a 10 -meter -wide fire -blocking runway at the mountain waist about 450 meters from the fire position.
According to a quick report, the damage was estimated at 10 hectares of fire forest, a BTS station of VNPT was affected, it was not possible to assess the extent due to not accessing the scene, the forces participating in fire fighting to ensure absolute safety. The police of Chi Thao commune summoned Mr. Ma Kien Giang to take testimony and continue to investigate and handle in accordance with the law.
