On the morning of September 14, information from the People's Committee of Da Lay commune, Da Teh district (Lam Dong) said that a boat sinking incident had just occurred on the Dong Nai river.
The boat sank at around 3:00 p.m. on September 13. At that time, three young men living in Da Lay commune invited each other to row an iron boat across the Dong Nai River, passing through Thuan Lo village, to go bird trapping.
In the middle of the river, due to the strong current, the boat sank, causing all 3 people to fall into the river. While all 3 people were struggling in the fast-flowing river, nearby people discovered and shouted for help.
Two people, Le Van Quoc (24 years old) and Ho Dinh Cong (27 years old), were fortunately rescued by locals. Mr. S (32 years old) was swept away by the water and went missing.
After rescuing the two people safely to shore, people discovered that Ho Dinh Cong showed signs of drowning and was quickly taken to the Da Teh District Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Information from the Da Teh District Medical Center said that after receiving emergency care, Mr. Cong's health has stabilized and he has been discharged from the hospital to return home.
Upon receiving the incident, Da Teh District Police, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Region 4, Lam Dong Police were present at the scene, coordinating with local authorities to deploy search and rescue measures.
However, due to the large and rapid flow of water from upstream on the Dong Nai River, search and rescue work was very difficult.
Up to this point, rescue forces with dozens of people are still implementing many search and rescue measures but have not yet had results.
