On December 18, the People's Committee of Nha Trang City announced that it had just issued a decision to adjust traffic flow for passenger cars with more than 29 seats entering the center of Nha Trang City.
Nha Trang City People's Committee decided to ban all passenger cars with more than 29 seats, including those with "tourist car" badges, from entering Nha Trang City center from December 20.
The daily ban is from 6:30 to 7:30 in the morning and from 16:30 to 18:30 in the afternoon. The restricted area for passenger cars with more than 29 seats to enter the center of Nha Trang City is calculated from the east of Le Hong Phong Street to Tran Phu Street and from the south of Cai River to the north of Binh Tan Bridge.
Nha Trang City People's Committee assigns the Urban Management Department to organize the adjustment of the road sign system according to the contents of this decision; coordinate with Nha Trang City Police and relevant agencies to implement regulations on traffic flow organization according to this decision.
Nha Trang City Police have developed a plan to organize mobile patrol teams to guide vehicles to comply with the above traffic regulations and strictly punish those who intentionally violate them.
Recently, some tourism businesses have proposed that the locality should reconsider the ban on cars with 29 seats or more entering the center of Nha Trang City.
Instead of banning vehicles, businesses have recommended that the government should regulate and streamline traffic appropriately.
Responding to the opinions of tourism businesses, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan stated that tourism and travel businesses need to change their operations immediately because in the development process, it is impossible for cars with more than 29 seats to carry tourists to the hotel door.
Businesses also have to calculate other options to transport customers to the city center, to hotels and tourist attractions.
