Quarry owner in Nghe An fined 210 million for encroaching on 1.8 hectares of forest land

Nghe An - A business encroaching on 1.8 hectares of forest land in Quy Hop district was administratively fined 210 million VND and forced to remedy the consequences.

Standing Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh has just signed a decision to administratively sanction Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Joint Stock Company (headquartered in Quy Hop town, Quy Hop district) for encroaching on production forest land.

Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Joint Stock Company used 1.8 hectares of production forest land in Thung Con area, Lien Hop commune to make a dumping site and build camps without being leased land by state agencies, the violation period is from 2020 to present.

For the above violations, the People's Committee of Nghe An province fined Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Joint Stock Company 210 million VND; applied measures to force the return of illegal profits gained from the violation of 72 million VND. At the same time, applied measures to force the implementation of land allocation and land lease procedures according to regulations.

Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Joint Stock Company was also fined VND 8 million for not submitting a report to the competent authority granting mining licenses if mining operations were suspended for 1 year or more (the company has suspended mining operations since May 2022 but has not submitted a report to the competent authority granting mining licenses).

For the third violation of "Preparing statistical reports and inventorying remaining mineral reserves in the permitted mining area without complete information according to the form prescribed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment", Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Joint Stock Company was fined 15 million VND.

The fourth violation "Incompletely establishing books, vouchers, documents, and related materials to determine actual annual mining output", this enterprise was fined 50 million VND.

In total, Phu Quy Stone and Mineral Joint Stock Company must pay the Nghe An provincial budget 355 million VND.
