Gold price forecast
After a strong correction in the last session of the week, the outlook for gold prices next week is receiving mixed assessments from investors.
The latest weekly gold survey by a precious metals website shows that there is still no clear consensus on the international market, as Wall Street experts are divided into three groups with relatively balanced views on the next trend of precious metals.
Among the 16 experts participating in the survey, 6 people, equivalent to 38%, predict that gold prices will increase next week. Conversely, 5 experts (31%) believe that gold prices may continue to be under downward pressure after a period of strong fluctuations. The rest believe that precious metals are likely to move sideways, accumulating in the current price range before determining a new trend.
In the group of individual investors, optimistic sentiment still prevailed but decreased compared to previous weeks. Among 220 votes, 120 traders, equivalent to 55%, expect gold prices to increase again. Meanwhile, 24% forecast prices to continue to decrease and 21% believe that the market may enter a sideways phase.
One of the factors creating support for gold is the buying demand of central banks. The latest data shows that the formal sector continues to maintain the trend of adding gold to reserves, in which China and Poland are two prominent countries.
In July, central banks were reported to have net bought 23 tons of gold. China added 20 tons, marking the 21st consecutive month that the People's Bank of China has increased its gold reserves. Since the beginning of 2026, China has bought about 60 tons of gold, raising the announced reserves to about 2,366 tons.
Poland continues to be the most active country in gold accumulation when it bought an additional 90 tons from the beginning of the year, raising its total holdings to about 640 tons and approaching the target of 700 tons. In addition, many other central banks such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Czech Republic also maintained the trend of increasing the proportion of gold in reserves.
In the coming week, investors need to closely monitor important economic data and cash flow developments in the international market. Strong fluctuations in the short term may increase the risk of chasing purchases, especially in the context that domestic gold prices still maintain a significant difference compared to the world.
