House is near so don't wear a helmet
“My house is right next door, convenient for buying food, so I didn't bring a helmet... ”, “I have a little urgent business, please sympathize... ” - those are the explanations that the Ban Thach Ward Police Patrol Team, Da Nang city regularly listens to when detecting and handling cases of traffic order and safety violations in the area.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Dang Duong - an officer of Ban Thach Ward Police, in many cases, violators do not intentionally resist, but have a common subjective mentality: the road is close, walking for a while, conveniently stopping by somewhere, so they do not need to wear a helmet. This leniency causes seemingly small mistakes to be repeated on the road.

Recently, during the duty, the Van Thach Ward Police patrol team discovered a man driving a motorbike without a helmet. Notably, this person had previously been reminded by the police force about the same act when taking his child to school near his house.
Thinking that the reminder would help the violator change their habits, but the next day, this person continued not to wear a helmet. When stopped for inspection, the man explained that it was "convenient to take his wife to work".
For the above act, the patrol team made a record and fined 500,000 VND according to point h, clause 2, Article 7 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
Reminding does not mean ignoring violations
According to Ban Thach Ward Police, during patrols and inspections, functional forces always implement the motto "respecting the rule of law, reasoning, and compassion". For cases of first-time violations, if the violation is not serious, the police combine propaganda and reminders to help people understand correctly and voluntarily comply.
However, reminding does not mean ignoring violations. For cases of intentional violations, or those who have been reminded but still re-offend, functional forces will resolutely handle them strictly, without forbidden zones, without exceptions.
From the story of a man being fined for "conveniently taking his wife to work", Ban Thach Ward Police recommends that people should not underestimate basic regulations when participating in traffic. Helmets are not only to avoid being fined, but first of all to protect the lives of the vehicle operator and the person sitting behind.
Not wearing a helmet once may only be fined. But just a sudden collision on the road can leave serious consequences, even irreparable losses.

In the first 6 months of 2026, Ban Thach Ward Police organized 14 focused propaganda sessions, posting 9 news articles on ensuring traffic order and safety.
Along with propaganda, the police force organized 112 patrols and inspections with 398 turns of officers and soldiers participating; detected and handled 39 violations, with a total fine of 19.5 million VND. Ban Thach Ward Police transferred 4 cases to the Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police to handle according to their authority, with a total fine of 36 million VND.
Ban Thach Ward Police said that in the coming time, they will continue to strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations of traffic order and safety on roads under their management. In which, functional forces are concentrated in Tam Thang Industrial Park area, where there is a very large traffic volume of workers participating in traffic during peak hours.
