In which, the Provincial People's Council voted to approve the draft resolution Deciding on the policy of converting forest use purposes to other purposes to implement the 110kV Phu Quoc - Bac Phu Quoc Power Line Project, An Giang province.
The area approved for the policy of converting forest use purposes to other purposes is 3, 721.07 m2, special-use forest type, the locations of plots belong to sub-zone 65, sub-zone 66, sub-zone 69, sub-zone 73, sub-zone 74 of Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province.
According to An Giang Provincial People's Committee, the 110kV Phu Quoc - Bac Phu Quoc Power Line Project, An Giang province has the project investor being Southern Power Corporation Limited.
The total land area used for the project is about 13,340.5 m2; The land area originating from forest planning is 4,852.87 m2; The area proposed for approval of policy to convert forest use purposes to other purposes is 3,721.07 m2.
The project is implemented to ensure safe and continuous power supply for Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province (now Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province), meeting socio-economic development needs, ensuring national defense and security and attracting investment. In addition, strengthening the power supply capacity for the northern load of Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province and criterion N-1 (power sources in Phu Quoc special zone are connected to closed circuits), minimizing power outages when incidents occur and when load increases in the future.
In addition, it will be synchronized with the 110kV North Phu Quoc Substation and 110kV Phu Quoc - South Phu Quoc Power Line projects. Reducing power loss, improving the reliability of regional power grid supply. Especially the important event for the whole country in general and Phu Quoc special zone in particular is the Asia-Pacific Cooperation Forum Conference held in 2027 (APEC 2027).
