These days, across key projects serving APEC 2027 in Phu Quoc special zone (An Giang), the construction atmosphere is taking place urgently and vibrantly.
After each square meter of land is handed over on schedule, there is a synchronous and drastic involvement of the entire political system. In which, the Phu Quoc Special Zone Police force has also promoted its core role in mass mobilization work, contributing to creating widespread consensus among the people.
Up to now, Phu Quoc has handed over more than 75% of the site to contractors to implement projects serving APEC 2027, ensuring the correct and exceeding the set schedule. This result not only shows the high political determination of the locality but also shows the consensus and sharing of the people for the common development goals of the special zone and the country.
To achieve that result, it was a difficult and stressful process when the workload was very large and the implementation time was rushed. Many households with land located in the planned area had to change their places of residence, adjust their livelihoods and their lives attached for many years. Therefore, mobilization and persuasion work is identified as a key task to create unity in people's awareness and actions.
Promoting the role of the core force in ensuring security and order and grassroots mass mobilization work, Phu Quoc Special Zone Police has widely deployed the Three Firsts emulation movement (Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People). This is not only an action slogan but has become a consistent working motto of each officer and soldier in the process of performing the task of site clearance to serve APEC 2027.
As one of the households that, after being propagated and mobilized by the Police force, agreed to hand over the land, Ms. Ho Thi Ai Trinh (resident of Quarter 6, Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc Special Zone) shared: "Initially, my family also had many concerns because of the place of residence that has been attached for many years. However, through the process of being visited by special zone police officers and local authorities, explaining clearly the guidelines, policies as well as the meaning of APEC 2027 for the development of Phu Quoc, my family understands and agrees to voluntarily hand over the land.
Officers and soldiers of Phu Quoc Special Zone Police always maintain strict discipline, standard working style, and dedication to tasks; at the same time, promote the spirit of responsibility, closeness, listening and sharing with the people with a sincere and receptive attitude. Many officers and soldiers, regardless of holidays, regularly stick to the area, directly go to each household to propagate and explain the meaning and importance of APEC 2027 for the development of Phu Quoc in particular and the national position in general.
Not only performing the task of ensuring security and order, the Police force also persistently listened to the thoughts and aspirations of the people; promptly recorded and advised on resolving difficulties and obstacles arising during the site clearance process. Many cases initially were hesitant and disagreed, but with sincerity, responsibility and the spirit of being "closest to the people", the Police force helped people understand the guidelines and policies, thereby voluntarily handing over the site to serve the construction of key projects.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nghiem Viet Hai - Deputy Head of Phu Quoc Special Zone Police - said: "The land clearance work in the past time has encountered many difficulties due to the large workload while the implementation time is very short, the requirements are extremely urgent. Faced with that situation, the local government has established many working groups to mobilize, persuade, exchange and share with the people. Thereby creating high consensus, helping many households to hand over land soon, contributing to ensuring the progress of deploying projects serving APEC 2027".
