On the afternoon of June 18, Nguyen Thi Huong (18 years old, from Quang Binh) informed Lao Dong that she had completed the paperwork at the Tan Hiep Social Protection Center (Minh Duc commune, Hon Quan district, Binh Phuoc province) and welcomed her mother back to Tay Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City.
"After more than three months of searching everywhere, from Ho Chi Minh City to neighboring provinces, the mother and daughter finally met each other. I am happy and grateful that everyone helped me find my mother," Huong said choking up.
According to Huong, after the information about finding her mother was widely published in the press, Huong received a phone call from a stranger, informing her that her mother, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Binh (42 years old), was being cared for at the Tan Hiep Social Protection Center (Minh Duc commune, Hon Quan district, Binh Phuoc province).
"At first, I was very skeptical because I had been scammed by someone else before. But then they posted a picture of her mother on social media. Seeing her, even though she is thinner and darker, I immediately recognized her. I was so happy that I cried," Huong choked up as she shared.
Before that, the lives of Huong and her mother faced many difficulties. The mother often shows signs of psychological disorders, sometimes tinh, sometimes confused, but the mother and child are always together, renting a room to make a living in many places. In early March 2025, Huong was invited by a brother from the same hometown to a vegetarian restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. On March 11, Huong took her mother to the city, but just one day later, Mrs. Binh suddenly lost contact.
Since then, Huong has been searching for her mother. Huong also reported the incident to the Tay Thanh Ward Police (Tan Phu District), distributed leaflets everywhere, posted search information on social networks, and traveled to many neighboring provinces and cities such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh to search. Tay Thanh Ward Police have also widely notified police units under Ho Chi Minh City to support the search.
