On July 14, at the Rach Gia Ward Party Committee Hall, An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security and GeneViet Company to collect DNA samples of relatives of unidentified martyrs in Rach Gia ward, Vinh Thong ward, Binh An commune, Chau Thanh commune, Tan Hiep commune, Tan Hoi commune, Thanh Dong commune and Kien Hai special zone.
At the DNA sample collection session, officers of the Administrative Management Police Department for Social Order of An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with GeneViet Company officers to receive information and take samples for 335 relatives of martyrs. The implementation process was carried out seriously and scientifically, ensuring the correct technical procedures. Officers on duty wholeheartedly guided relatives of martyrs in declaring information, providing samples, ensuring that the collected data is complete and accurate, serving the effectiveness of appraisal and comparison work.
The collection of DNA samples is one of the important contents in the process of building and completing a database to serve the identification of remains of martyrs who lack information. Through comparing DNA between relatives of martyrs and DNA samples of martyrs' remains, functional agencies have more scientific basis to gradually identify those who have sacrificed, contributing to solving cases that have remained over many years.

According to professional requirements, each martyr's family provides DNA samples of direct relatives to serve comparison with DNA data of martyrs' remains. This is an important basis to supplement and complete information about martyrs whose identities have not been identified, helping functional agencies have more basis in the process of performing this sacred task.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Le - Deputy Head of the Administrative Management Department for Social Order of An Giang Provincial Police - said that the peak period of collecting DNA samples for relatives of martyrs will be implemented from July 12 to July 16, 2026. In this period, An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with functional units to collect DNA samples from more than 3,800 relatives of martyrs who have not been identified in the province.
To ensure progress and create the most favorable conditions for relatives of martyrs, An Giang Provincial Police has established 3 working groups to directly organize the collection of DNA samples centralized in communes, wards, and special zones. Arranging collection points right at the grassroots level not only helps people conveniently participate but also demonstrates the dedication and responsibility of the Police force in performing the task of expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Le said.

Mr. Nguyen Huynh Phan - a relative of martyr Duong Cong Nghiep emotionally - shared his joy when participating in taking DNA samples today. He said that this is a very meaningful act, bringing great hope to the family in the journey to search for and identify the identity of the sacrificed relative.
The family is very grateful for the concern of all levels and sectors, especially the Police force, for their dedicated support so that relatives of martyrs have more opportunities to find information about the deceased," Mr. Phan shared.
This phase of deploying the collection of DNA samples from relatives of martyrs is not only a political task but also a practical action to express deep gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who bravely sacrificed. Thereby, continuing to spread the good humanistic tradition of the nation.
