On July 9, at Doc Ba Dac Martyrs' Cemetery, Thoi Son ward, An Giang province, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the Military Command of An Giang province solemnly organized a ceremony to pay respects, commemorate and bury 235 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed during the wars in Cambodia and in the country.
Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Head of National Steering Committee 515.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, Party and State leaders, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 9 and An Giang province respectfully placed wreaths bearing the words "Forever grateful to heroic martyrs", offered incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national defense and fulfilling noble international obligations.
On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung read the eulogy, recalling the glorious feats of arms, the great sacrifices of heroic martyrs of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland as well as when performing international duties in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

After the memorial service, 235 sets of martyrs' remains were moved to the burial area. Speaking at the burial ceremony, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized that the memorial service, funeral and burial of martyrs' remains are not only activities of profound political, social and humanistic significance but also express the responsibility, feelings and gratitude of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of An Giang province to the generations of fathers and brothers who have contributed and sacrificed for the Fatherland.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province will continue to implement well the "Gratitude and Repayment" work, taking care of people with meritorious services to the revolution; and at the same time closely coordinate with central ministries and branches, Military Region 9 and localities to continue to effectively implement the task of searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains, contributing to alleviating the pain of war, meeting the aspirations of martyrs' relatives and educating patriotism and national pride for today's and future generations.

235 sets of martyrs' remains buried this time are the result of the search and repatriation process in the dry season of 2025-2026 carried out by Team K90 (Political Department of Military Region 9), Team K92 and Team K93 (An Giang Provincial Military Command) in provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia and in the country.

Each set of remains returned to the Fatherland is not only the completion of a special political task but also the return of Vietnamese children after many years lying on the battlefield. This deeply humane activity continues to affirm the consistent policy of the Party and State in the work of searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains; expressing the tradition of morality "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude", contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc, fostering the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia and spreading the good values of patriotism, responsibility and gratitude to generations who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
