On July 12, at Tan Chau Ward Police, An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (QLHC on TTXH) - Ministry of Public Security and GeneViet Company to collect DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs in communes and wards: Tan Chau, Long Phu, Phu Lam, Chau Phong, Phu An, Tan An, Vinh Xuong and Cho Vam.

At the DNA sample collection session, officers and soldiers of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order of the Provincial Police coordinated with GeneViet Company to collect DNA samples for 204 cases of relatives of martyrs. The sample collection process is scientifically and closely organized, ensuring the correct technical procedures, safety and accuracy, with direct guidance from experts in the field of DNA testing. According to regulations, each martyr's family will provide 2 DNA samples of direct relatives to serve the comparison with martyrs' remains data.
In addition to organizing the collection of samples at the headquarters as planned, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police and related units also organized to go to homes for 11 cases of relatives of fallen soldiers who were old and weak, facing difficulties in moving to collect DNA samples.

According to the plan, this peak period will take place from July 12 to 16, 2026, An Giang Provincial Police in coordination with functional units will organize the collection of DNA samples from more than 3,800 relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province. To ensure progress and create favorable conditions for people, the Provincial Police has established 3 working groups to organize the collection of DNA samples centrally in central communes and wards.
This is an activity with scientific significance and deep humanistic value, expressing deep gratitude to the martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, thereby contributing to building a national database to serve the identification of martyrs' remains, widely spreading the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude", showing the responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society in the journey to bring heroic martyrs back to their families.
