On the morning of October 15, Mr. Duong Tan Hien - Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, chaired a meeting with press and media agencies for the third quarter of 2024.
At the press conference, Colonel Tran Van Duong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police - informed about the serious traffic accident that occurred on the IC3 intersection overpass, at around 0:30 on July 18, killing 3 young men.
Colonel Tran Van Duong determined that this was a serious and tragic accident, involving two 17-year-old youths and one 16-year-old youth. All three youths had blood alcohol levels when participating in traffic.
“Up to now, all the documents, evidence and appraisal results have been verified. The police have determined that this is the victim’s fault. We are taking the final steps to discuss and reach an agreement with the Procuracy to handle the case according to the law,” said Colonel Duong.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, at around 0:30 on July 18, many drivers traveling to the middle of the IC3 overpass in Cai Rang district, Can Tho city discovered 3 young men lying motionless, on top of each other, one of whom had an intact body.
Next to the 3 people was a motorbike with the license plate 65M1-075.xx. At the scene, there were many blood stains and scattered objects. All 3 victims were dead.
Upon receiving the news, traffic police and other professional units of Can Tho City Police were present at the scene to examine and investigate the incident.
The identities of the three deceased victims include: P.T.L (17 years old, Cai Rang district); P.M.P (16 years old, Ninh Kieu district) and L.T.H (17 years old, Ninh Kieu district).
