On the evening of May 22, Can Tho City Police said that through camera footage, functional forces identified Mr. Tran P.T. as the driver of a vehicle carrying construction materials that dropped stones on Dau Sau bridge (Tran Hoang Na street, An Binh ward). The Traffic Police Department invited this person to work and made a record of administrative violation according to regulations.

Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, on the evening of May 17, many motorcyclists traveling through the Dau Sau bridge area suddenly slipped and fell due to construction stones falling and stretching across the bridge surface, causing traffic unsafety.
At the time of the incident, it was dark, visibility was limited, so many motorcyclists could not handle it in time, had to brake suddenly, leading to wheel slippage and falling.
People living near the scene said that in just about 15 minutes, many cases of motorbike falls occurred continuously when passing through this area. Some people suffered scratches on their hands and feet, and light bleeding.

Can Tho City Police also said that according to Article 17, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP of the Government stipulating penalties for administrative violations of traffic order and safety in the field of road traffic; deducting points, restoring points for driver's licenses, regulations. Specifically, a fine of 500,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND is imposed for the act of driving a vehicle that does not meet traffic hygiene requirements in urban areas. A fine of 2,000,000 VND to 4,000,000 VND is imposed for one of the following violations: transporting soil, rocks, waste, and detached goods without a roof or tarpaulin covering or with a roof or tarpaulin covering but still letting them fall; causing goods to spill on the road; transporting goods or waste to let water flow down the road surface causing traffic unsafety. Dragging mud, soil, sand, raw materials, materials or other waste materials onto the road causing traffic unsafety.


A fine of between VND 4,000,000 and VND 6,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers who illegally dump garbage, soil, sand, stone, materials, and waste within the land area for roads in the out-of-urban section.
A fine of between VND 10,000,000 and VND 15,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers who illegally dump garbage, soil, sand, stone, materials, and waste on the streets.
In addition to being subject to penalties, vehicle drivers (when driving cars) who commit these violations will also be deducted 2 points from their driver's licenses.
