Earlier, in the evening of 4.5, after the image and video of the cracked surface of Ka Long bridge spread on Facebook social network, the Mong Cai City government quickly issued a notice of suspending the circulation of cars across the bridge to serve the inspection and evaluation of the quality of the project.
On May 5, the authorities sawed the cracks on the bridge surface, conducted a survey of the bridge's current status to determine the cause soon, thereby implementing a timely repair and repair plan to ensure traffic safety.

According to the latest announcement of Mong Cai City People's Committee, vehicles with 9 seats or less (except trucks) are allowed to travel again through Ka Long Bridge (Hung Vuong Street) from 5:00 p.m. on May 5, 2025.
Ka Long Bridge is located on National Highway 18, across the Ka Long River in Mong Cai City. The bridge is over 230m long, the only stone arch bridge in Vietnam built entirely with natural stone, without the use of alloying materials such as cement or lime.
The project started in September 1963 and was completed in May5. In early 2015, Ka Long Bridge was repaired, upgraded and installed with a modern decorative lighting system.
