Regarding the warehouse fire in Son Dong commune on the evening of September 23, this morning (September 24), Hanoi City Police had initial information about the location of the fire.
According to Hanoi City Police, at about 9:06 pm on September 23, the Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police received a fire report at a warehouse and workshop complex of more than 2,000m2, on a total land area of about 6,700m2, along Thang Long Avenue (belonging to Son Dong commune, Hanoi City).
Recognizing that the fire was developing complicatedly, exploding largely and with a high risk of spreading to adjacent warehouses and factories, Hanoi City Police urgently mobilized nearly 100 officers and soldiers from Firefighting and Rescue Teams in areas 2, 15, 16, 17, 23, 29 and 22 specialized vehicles to the scene.
At the scene, the flammable materials were mainly wood, plastic, paper, nylon... emitting high heat and generating a lot of smoke and toxic gases.
The Fire and Rescue Police force coordinated with local forces to mobilize excavators and bulldozers to demolish walls and corrugated iron roofs to open access roads, and at the same time deploy firefighting from many directions.
By 11:10 PM on September 23, the fire was basically under control. By 0:30 AM on September 24, the fire was completely extinguished.
According to Hanoi City Police, the Fire and Rescue Police force has safely protected 4 adjacent workshops, effectively preventing the risk of fire spreading to neighboring projects.
The fire did not cause any casualties. The cause of the incident and statistics of property damage are being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
