On the afternoon of September 23, Mr. Truong Van Sang - Chairman of Dam Rong 2 Commune People's Committee, Lam Dong province said that functional forces are investigating and clarifying the cause of the house fire that killed Ms. V.T.S (born 1994) and her 2 young children.
According to Mr. Sang, Ms. S is a H'Mong ethnic person, from a northern mountainous province. In 2024, she was taken by her husband, Mr. H.A. A, to Dam Rong 2 commune to live and start a business.
The fire occurred in the early morning of September 22, when Mr. A was taking his riêng child to the hospital for examination.
Ms. S's family's house is located in a residential area of the H'Mong people who came to live in the locality. This area is far from the center, the roads are difficult to travel, and it is often muddy in the rainy season.
According to local authorities, the area is in the construction phase of functional agencies, without electricity and no phone signal. The house is located in the middle of a coffee garden, isolated from other households.
Mr. Ndu Ha Bien - Secretary of the Party Committee of Dam Rong 2 commune said that Ms. S's family is in difficult circumstances.
Initially, the locality supported the victim's family with 20 million VND and is mobilizing people to contribute to support the funeral arrangements for the victims.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, the fire occurred in the early morning of September 22 at a wooden house of about 50m2 in Sub-area 181, Lieng Hung village, Dam Rong 2 commune.
The fire burned down the house, killing 3 people in the same family, including Ms. V.T.S and 2 young children V.T.V (born 2024) and H.V.Q (born 2026).
Upon receiving the news, Dam Rong 2 Commune Police and Lam Dong Provincial Police arrived at the scene, coordinating with professional units to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
