On the afternoon of December 14, Hai Phong City Police informed: At 7:50 a.m. on December 14, the 114 Command Information Center - Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department received a report of a fire at a shoe factory of Oanh Van Investment Company Limited, at Dong Tien Village, Chan Hung Commune, Hai Phong City.
Immediately afterwards, the Fire Prevention and Rescue forces mobilized 6 fire trucks and officers to the scene to organize fire fighting and rescue.
At the scene, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force, seeing the fire developing rapidly and with complicated developments, requested the fire fighting commander to provide forces and means. Next, the 114 Command Information Center continued to dispatch 7 more fire trucks, 1 fire extinguisher, 2 vehicles and 3 fire pumps to the scene to put out the fire.
At around 10:30 a.m. the same day, the fire was basically under control.
Initially, it was determined that because the fire occurred on a day off, there were no workers working in the factories at the time of the fire; there were no human casualties.
Information from the People's Committee of Chan Hung Commune (Hai Phong City) said: As soon as the fire was discovered, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and leaders of the People's Committee of the commune were present at the scene to direct local forces: Commune Police, grassroots security, Commune Military and militia forces to quickly coordinate with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police to isolate, put out the fire and direct traffic, ensuring security and order 1.5 km from the road.
Accordingly, 3 workshops, 1 warehouse and 1 operator's house (area of about 12,000 m2) of Oanh Van Investment Company Limited were burned down. The value of the damage is being counted and verified.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate to clarify the cause of the fire.
