Nguyen Huy Hoang participated in the final of the men's 200m freestyle and won first place, winning the gold medal with a result of 1 minute 50 seconds 53. This is Nguyen Huy Hoang's 4th gold medal at the tournament. This national athlete has won the 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle and 1,500m freestyle championships in previous competition days.
In this men's 200m freestyle event, the second place is young player Tran Van Nguyen Quoc (Da Nang, 1 minute 50 seconds 42).
Fans witnessed national team player Vo Thi My Tien (Tay Ninh) face fierce competition from junior Nguyen Thuy Hien (Army) in the finals of the 200m freestyle and 200m female frog.
My Tien won the gold medal in the 200m freestyle event with a time of 2 minutes 02 seconds 03 while Thuy Hien won the silver medal (2 minutes 03 seconds 36). In the 200m frog distance, My Tien won the championship with a result of 2 minutes 35 seconds 05 while Thuy Hien finished second with a result of 2 minutes 41 seconds 45.
However, Nguyen Thuy Hien also won a gold medal for herself when she won the women's 50m butterfly distance (27 seconds 34).
Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City team is leading the overall group with 12 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 10 bronze medals. The tournament will close on the last day of October 9.
