On April 27, Cat Tien 3 Commune Police (Lam Dong) said that the unit had just supported two people in the area to exchange motorbikes due to confusion.
Previously, on the evening of April 26, Mr. N.T. T (residing in Tien Thang village) came to the commune police to report that he had driven a wrong motorbike. Notably, there was 20 million VND of his family in the motorbike's trunk.
Immediately after receiving the information, Cat Tien 3 Commune Police deployed professional measures, reviewed the security camera system in the area to verify.
Through this, the police force identified the person who mistakenly drove Mr. T's car as Mr. L (residing in Trung Hung village, Cat Tien 3 commune), and invited both sides to the headquarters to work.
At the police station, Mr. L said that at about 6 pm on the same day, he drove a red Honda Blade motorbike to buy goods at a grocery store in the Gia Vien market area.
When getting out of the car, he did not pull out the keys. When he turned around, he saw two cars of the same color, both of which did not pull out the keys, so he was confused and mistakenly drove Mr. T.'s car.
After working, Mr. T checked the property and confirmed that the 20 million VND in the trunk of the car was still intact. The two sides then returned the vehicle to each other.
According to Cat Tien 3 Commune Police, the quick verification, clarification and timely support for people to receive their property back demonstrates a sense of responsibility in ensuring security and order in the locality.
The police agency also recommends that people need to raise awareness of property protection, especially removing keys when leaving vehicles to avoid similar incidents.
