In the historic Ba Dinh Square, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour organized a ceremony to report achievements and commend outstanding grassroots trade union presidents in collective dialogue and negotiation to celebrate the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day.
The reporting ceremony took place with the presence of Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; members of the Presidium, members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; representatives of leaders of departments and units directly under the General Confederation, and 101 outstanding grassroots trade union presidents typical in dialogue and collective negotiation attending the commendation ceremony (held on the morning of April 28).

Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Van Quynh - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of An Nam Matsuoka Garment Co., Ltd. (Nghe An) respectfully informed Uncle Ho.

In which, imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings and worthy of Uncle Ho's teachings, the Vietnam Trade Union organization has continuously developed and matured, becoming a fulcrum for a large number of workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide; truly becoming a reliable support of the Party and State, the core in gathering, uniting, and building a modern and strong working class. Under the light of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, trade union levels are continuing to strongly innovate both in content and methods of operation, directly contributing to economic growth and ensuring social security for workers.
The Chairman of the grassroots trade union of An Nam Matsuoka Garment Co., Ltd. respectfully informed Uncle Ho: Following Uncle Ho's example, implementing Uncle Ho's teachings, we, grassroots trade union chairmen, have constantly strived to study, train, and dedicate ourselves to the interests of workers, dedicated to work, and harmonious in life. We, the 101 typical and outstanding grassroots trade union chairmen commended today, have overcome all difficulties in life, affirmed our bravery, intelligence, responsibility and scientific working methods for collective dialogue and negotiation, bringing more benefits and better welfare to workers. These are salaries, bonuses, reduced working hours, occupational safety and health, increased welfare and many other supports for more than 382 thousand workers belonging to our 101 enterprises and units.
Studying and following Uncle Ho's ideology, ethics, and style, based on the direction and guidance of trade union levels, we have constantly learned, improved our qualifications, innovated working styles and methods, mastered knowledge and skills to serve work, constantly innovated, created, approached and applied digital transformation and technology to propaganda, mobilization, and persuasion to gather union members and workers, especially to improve negotiation skills with employers to better represent and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and the collective of workers.
Being praised by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and respectfully reported achievements to Uncle Ho, we consider this a great honor and pride, and also an opportunity for each of us to reflect on ourselves, vowing to continue to follow Uncle Ho's example, striving constantly in our work to contribute more to the country.
This is also an opportunity for the Vietnam Trade Union organization to continue to affirm its role as a reliable support for millions of union members and workers nationwide, affirming its determination to innovate to do well the role and mission of a center of solidarity, gathering, representing, caring for, and protecting the rights of workers.
We vow to dedicate all our hearts and minds to contribute to building a strong Trade Union organization, building a modern and strong working class, a prosperous country, and happy families as Uncle Ho wished.
