The election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term will be held on March 15, 2026 nationwide. In Hanoi City alone, there are 4,992 polling stations, 831 electoral units with a total of more than 6.17 million voters participating.
Identifying this as an important political event of the country, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police has developed and implemented a plan to ensure traffic order and safety to serve the election work, in order to create favorable conditions for voters in the Capital to participate in the great festival of the whole people to take place safely and smoothly.
Accordingly, the traffic police force focuses on ensuring traffic order and safety in polling areas, key roads, political and administrative centers, and areas with high voter density.
At the same time, the unit closely coordinates with functional forces to ensure security and order at activities related to the election, protect the safety of polling stations, ballot boxes, ballots and the vote counting process in accordance with the law.
Security and order assurance work is deployed at a high level, mobilizing maximum forces, vehicles and technical equipment to serve the task.
Task forces strengthen patrols and inspections, promptly detect and handle violations that may lead to congestion and traffic unsafety; and proactively grasp the situation, prevent and stop potentially complex security and order factors in areas where elections take place early.
In parallel with that, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department coordinated with relevant units to synchronously implement measures to ensure urban order, public order, fire prevention and fighting and rescue; not to let traffic jams occur in polling areas and key roads on election days.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Me - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police emphasized that the Traffic Police force will deploy synchronous professional measures, proactively grasp the situation early and remotely, promptly detect and handle arising situations, and ensure smooth traffic order and safety in the Capital.
Subordinate units are required to strictly maintain duty and combat duty regimes; ensure smooth communication, be ready with forces and means to promptly handle arising situations, contributing to the election day in the Capital taking place safely, in accordance with regulations and truly a festival for the whole people," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Me said.
